Do you have a princess living at your house? We sure do. My youngest is ALL about princesses and she has the dress collection to show for it.

Cinderella, Tiana, Elsa, Anna, Rapunzel, Tinkerbell and of course Snow White! Because she has such a great love for princesses, when she was just 2 years old, I bought the complete Everyday Princess Dress collection from Made For Mermaids. During a big sale, Made For Mermaids offered a steep discount on the full collection so I grabbed them all.

I actually made this Snow White dress 2 years ago for my youngest's Christmas gift. It was part of a complete collection of dresses. Due to the relaxed fit AND the bodice ties, my daughter has been wearing this dress weekly since that gift 2 years ago. When I first made the dress, it came right to the middle of her shin, just as the pattern is drafted. Now it is above the knee and working it's way to tunic length. It is so good to see a gift like this getting such long term use!

The Everyday Princess Dress, is a basic peasant dress. Unlike other peasant dress patterns, the bodice is NOT simple rectangles. The back and front pieces are different (with a lower scoop in the front) and the sleeve hem is curved to give a great fit. The trick is in the little details that are included in the pattern. Whether it is the curved bodice of Tinkerbell, color block bodice for Rapunzel, banded sleeve for Snow White, shaped overskirt of Tiana, the work is all done for you. The pattern includes the trim options you may want and suggestions to make it more or less complicated. That means even a beginner can put together a stack of princess dresses.

Could you hack all of these different looks from a favorite peasant dress? Absolutely! But the time to get all the pieces to look proportional makes the patterns worth it. I was able to sew these up quite quickly.

And if you're wondering whether the dress is good for everyday, my daughter says absolutely yes. It was perfect for our spring time trip to our local park.
